VIDEO: Planting Cabbage at Miller Farms

Miller Farms has been heavily involved with the College Park Farmers' Market for many years. The market is set to open for the season this Saturday.

Long before there was a Miller Farms in Clinton was instrumental in getting the Saturday market at the Ellen Linson Swimming Pool up and running.

The family has been heavily involved in both markets since then.

Patch visited the Millers in March to learn about the history of the farm, the family's role in the markets and the operations of the farm. In this video, Phil Miller explains how they use a machine—a tobacco planter in a past life—to plant cabbage and other greens.

The College Park Farmers' Market is set to begin this Saturday, May 5, operating from 7 a.m. to noon at the parking lot. The downtown market is held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays in the parking lot.
