The board voted in November to revoke Wanuck’s liquor license after the bar was busted for serving underage patrons as part of police sting orchestrated by the University of Maryland. Because Wanuck also ran for 20 years without incident, the board determined Wednesday that Wanuck's record need not be tainted with a revoked liquor license, and voted to let his record state that it was voluntary forfeited instead.

Wanuck's record still shows one violation for serving an underage student alcohol, the only lingering evidence of the three violations the Thirsty Turtle received in the two years it was in business.
