A small brewed coffee could see its price increase by as much as 10 cents, while other drinks could increase by more than that.

However, Starbucks said its medium and large brewed coffees and Frappuccinos won't change in most of its 11,000 U.S. cafes.

There are numerous Starbucks locations in and around College Park, including:

  • College Park Shopping Center, 7338 Baltimore Ave.
  • College Park, 4750 Cherry Hill Rd.
  • Shoppes at Metro, 3601 East-West Hwy.
  • Greenway Center, 7541 Greenbelt Rd.

The increase comes even though bean prices are dropping, according to the AP. An analyst estimated that this year Starbucks will spend about half the $1.4 billion it did for beans in 2012.

According to Starbucks, coffee represents just one of its many costs and typically accounts for less than 10 percent of overall store expenses.
