Savory, Sweet, and Fresh Fare From the Farmers Market at Maryland

Today—Wednesday, July 10—marks another installment of the Farmers Market at Maryland.

Drop by the front of the Cole Student Activities Building between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a selection of fresh, local fare that includes:

  • Bonaparte Breads (Savage, MD): breads, pastries, quiches
  • Country Vittles from Critter Hill Farm (Taneytown, MD): beef and other meat products
  • Goldilocks Goodies (Washington, DC): gluten-free baked goods
  • Lydia's Fields at Wheatland (Purcellville, VA): fruits and vegetables
  • McCleaf's Orchard (Biglerville, PA): fruits and vegetables
  • Phil’s Dills (New Windsor, MD): homemade pickles
  • Picnic Gourmet Spreads (Gaithersburg, MD): savory and sweet spreads
  • Sweet Teensy (Bethesda, MD): boutique bakery
  • Upper Crust Bakery (Silver Spring, MD): artisan breads
  • Valencia's Produce (Leedstown, VA): vegetables
  • Waterview Foods (Naticoke, MD): free-range eggs, crabmeat

Through July 15, the market is also holding a National Picnic Month Recipe Contest. Organizers are looking for "the best picnic recipes from the UMD community featuring seasonal ingredients that can be purchased at the Farmers Market." 

The winner, chosen at random from the submissions, will receive a picnic basket full of market fare. More details here.
