Readers' Choice: REI Takes the Win for Best Sporting Goods Store

Voters feel a sport isn't a sport without some wilderness.

was the resounding winner in this week's Readers' Choice poll, even if it was with an un-resounding number of votes.

Monday through Friday morning, Patch readers of College Park, Greenbelt, Hyattsville, Riverdale Park and University Park voted for the best store in the area to buy sporting goods.

Apparently, athletics are akin with mud and campfire smell for many Patch readers. REI earned nine of 10 votes.  offers shoes and gear for camping, hiking, climbing, fitness and travel.
