'Bunny' and 'Bear' Tie the Knot at College Park IKEA

High school friends reunited 30 years later for a date at IKEA. Two years after that, they tied the knot at the Swedish furniture store.

Reporters receive countless invitations to media events, but rarely do press get invited to a wedding. This week, I found this in my inbox:

IKEA College Park requests your presence at the marriage of Ms. Julie Rodgers and Mr. Willie Pittman.

Yes, IKEA—as in the giant Swedish furniture store in north College Park.

Pittman (who goes by "Bear) and Rodgers (who goes by "Bunny") grew up in the same neighborhood and attended school together in Washington, D.C. Thirty years later, the two found each other through social media and met up at the restaurant in College Park, where they dined on meatballs and toured the store.

"As we're leaving, we get yogurt cones and we're on the way to the parking lot when it hits me," Rodgers said, according to WTOP. "I turned to him and said, 'This is one of the best dates I've ever had,' to which he said, 'This is a date?'"

On Tuesday, on the second anniversary of the date/non-date, they got married in IKEA, with the help of store staff and the use of IKEA merchandise.

MyFOXdc.com has a cool video with both Bunny and Bear, and a spokeswoman for IKEA. Check it out here.
