Azteca Restaurant Open for Business
After a "trial" opening last week, the Tex-Mex restaurant was ready for its Sept. 16 grand unveiling.
The Azteca Restaurant & Cantina, bringing its Tex-Mex fare to north College Park, has transformed in about a week's time.
Gone are the building supplies, the paper in the windows and anything that suggested it’s still a work in progress. Inside, the atmosphere is welcoming. Outside, signs advertise for its Sept. 16 grand opening.
“Azteca has a really cool environment with a lot of TVs and good food," one patron, Drew Grossman said. The University of Maryland student visited Azteca to watch a soccer game after its .

One of the owners, Mario Orellana, has big plans for his restaurant that he hopes will draw support from the College Park community.
"We are thinking about hiring taxis to do take-out for the restaurant and we are also going to have catering as well," Orellana said.

Orellana has been in the food business for about 30 years. He co-owns a restaurant in Silver Spring with his brother, but he teamed up with James Burick to open the College Park restaurant.
