Water Outage to Hit Greenbelt Rd. Businesses Tuesday Night

No residential customers will be affected, a WSSC spokesman said.

Several businesses along Greenbelt Road are set to lose water pressure again Tuesday night—this time for planned repairs.

Service will be shut off from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, said Jerry Irvine, a spokesman for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

Crews will be working to fix a broken 10-inch valve discovered over the weekend, when a rupture in a water main along Branchville Ave. prompted emergency maintenance.

Many businesses in and around Greenbelt's Beltway Plaza Mall were forced to close Saturday due to the lack of water.

The same cluster of customers will be affected by Tuesday night's shutdown, Irvine said. No residential areas are expected to lose service.
