Great Escape: Environmental Film Festival

Let Patch help you make the most of your me-time.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. You've got some "you" time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier - maybe a whole lot easier.

The 19th D.C. Environmental Film Festival kicked off on Tuesday, with films being shown in 60 venues around town. Choosing from among the 150 films to be showcased at this year's festival can be a daunting task: Are you in the mood for a politically-charged history lesson (Black Wave: The Legacy of Exxon Valdez)? The touching story of a boy and his quest to protect a rare white lion (White Lion)? Breathtaking shots of exotic foreign lands (Arabia 3D)?

Or maybe you'll just pick the film that dovetails most nicely with naptime.

The Environmental Film Festival will run through March 27. Check out the festival's website for more details.
