The Stitch - DIY Coffeehouse Music Nights

The Stitch is a series of 4 DIY coffeehouse shows between April and June 2012, hosted by Yarner Recording Studio and The College Park Arts Exchange; sponsored by the City of College Park and the Prince Georges Arts and Humanities Council.

Wednesday 4/25 - Ms Fridrich (DC/MD): Indie-pop duo fronted by pianist, singer, songwriter Sarah Fridrich. For fans of piano rockers Amanda Palmer, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds and Fiona Apple as well as gritty, roots songwriters like Lucinda Williams and Tom Waits. Ms Fridrich will perform songs from her latest record “You Call That Brave” (Marjorie Music).  www.facebook.com/msfridrich

Thursday 5/10 - Hope for Agoldensummer (Athens, GA): An anarchist-soul-choir. For nearly a decade, sisters Claire & Paige Campbell have traveled the USA creating rusty, gutter angel melodies with a slide guitar, banjo, jangly percussion, glockenspiel, singing saw, piano and a few old coke bottles. Tuesday 6/5 - Janel and Anthony (DC/NY): Elegant experimental music for cello and guitar. Lots of effects, creative arrangements and amazing musicianship. Janel and Anthony’s music has been Featured on NPR and the BBC. Thursday 6/21 - Hammer No More the Fingers (Durham, NC): Catchy and fun modern rock trio from North Carolina’s vibrant ‘Triangle’ arts scene. Three friends who’ve been making music together since elementary school, Hammer No More the Fingers’ musicianship and synergy is unmistakably infectious. A great rock band to catch live, ‘Hammer’ is touring in support of their latest record “Black Shark” (Churchkey Records).  www.facebook.com/hnmtf
