Celebrate America Recycles Day!

College Park Department of Public Works and College Park Arts Exchange are offering a day-long arts workshop led by arts specialist Aaron Springer on Sat Nov 12, from 10 am to 4 pm, for mixed age groups to build person-sized sculpture out of recyclable materials.

The workshop will be held at Davis Hall/Department of Public Works (9217 51st Avenue). Bring your recyclables (no glass, please) and ideas on how to transform them into artful sculptures – teams are encouraged! Advanced registration is required; $5/person, $15/group to secure your spot.

Begin gathering materials from your recyclables -- coffee cans, colorful plastic, wire, string, different kinds of paper, etc-- to be incorporated into your sculptures.

This will be a wonderful workshop for families, scouts, fellowship groups, or any group of friends. Participants will have the opportunity to enter into drawings for prizes sponsored by local recycling advocates, including the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG). Lunch will be provided!
