21st Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The College Park Committee for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will celebrate the 21st Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, University of Maryland at College Park from 2 – 4 p.m.  This year’s theme commemorates the dedication of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial in Washington, D.C. and is entitled “King:  A Legacy of Peace, Hope, and Joy”.

As in past commemorations, there will be music, dance, and literary reflections on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dream of peace and unity.  This grass-roots community-based event highlights the extraordinary talent in our collective schools, churches, and communities.  So, please come out, see, and support your neighbor’s artistic abilities!

The committee invites you on behalf of the City of College Park, the University of Maryland, and the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission to join us as we continue to advance peace and unity in the 21st Century!
