Watch "Transformers 2" on the big screen without even leaving the water at Ellen Linson pool.

Drive-in movies may be a relic of the '70s, but dive-in movies – sans the "r"– are alive and kicking at Ellen Linson Swimming Pool.

With the help of a giant inflatable screen, the pool will be transformed into a makeshift aquatic movie theater Saturday night when it will show the 2007 sci-fi action blockbuster "Transformers 2."

This is the centers' second attempt at showing a poolside movie this year. A screening of the movie "Up!" was scheduled earlier in the summer, but plans were forced underwater after an ill-timed summer storm led to the cancellation of the event.

Event organizers hope to avoid that fate this time around.

"The last one was pretty much nothing, so we're hoping to have a good turnout this time," said Chris Horton, a water safety instructor and assistant manager at the pool.

The center keeps at least three such inflatable screens on hand for various recreation events, like teen activity nights. When the weather does eventually turn cold, Horton said, they inflate the screen at the ice rink next door, and the cinematic adventure continues.

For now, escape the heat, swim back and enjoy the show. The movie will start at 8 p.m. and costs $5 for adults and $4 for kids.
