Craft Beer Expo, Camelot, Bingo: Prince George's Weekend Events

Craft Beer Expo

  • Where: Joe’s Movement Emporium, 3309 Bunker Hill Rd, Mount Rainier
  • When: Saturday, June 1, 5–9 p.m.
  • Description: Beer lovers are invited to join Gateway Community Development Corporation, as they showcase some of the best Homebrewers in the Gateway Arts District at the 2013 Craft Beer Expo. Twenty exhibitors will be competing in a jury competition in five categories, along with a popular vote from the public.
  • Cost: $20 / Order tickets at: www.gatewaycdc.org. (No tickets available at the door).

Camelot - Musical

  • Where: 100 White Marsh Park Dr, Bowie
  • When: Friday, May 31, 8 p.m.
  • Description: The classic story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, with singing, dancing, and pageantry.
  • Cost: $20

American Legion Post 60 Bingo

  • Where: American Legion Post 60, 2 Main St, Laurel
  • When: Doors open at 5:00 pm. Bingo starts at 7:45 p.m.
  • Description: Food and Snacks available for purchase. 25 games- all cash prizes guaranteed. $1,000.00 ball games. ATM available-no checks accepted.
  • Cost: $20

Ford EcoBoost Challenge

  • Where: 1600 Fedex Way, Landover
  • When: Saturday, June 1, all day.
  • Description: Visitors are invited to stop by the Ford EcoBoost Challenge at FedEx Field for your chance to have an all-access drive experience featuring: -Professional drive instruction so that you can learn how to maximize your MPG and Hypermile like a pro in the Ford “Hypermile Challenge.” -A chance to drive the High-Performance Focus ST and Fiesta ST-An opportunity to drive the 2013 Fusion and Escape against their lead competitors, the Honda CRV and Toyota Camry.

Seasource Detox Skinny Wrap Party and Facials

  • Where: Caressence Therapeutic Massage, 7211 Hanover Pky, Greenbelt
  • When: Saturday, June 1, 9:30 a.m.
  • Description: Get either a facial and/or an Arbonne Seasource Detox Spa Wrap. These wraps have resulted in inches lost from your waist, thighs, and upper arms.

Free Youth Dance Performance/Open House

  • Where: New Chicago Dance Studio, 7505 Greenway Center Dr, Greenbelt
  • When: Saturday, June 1, 2 p.m.
  • Description: As part of New Chicago Dance Studio's Open House, our student dance company, "YouthCo" will perform a set of their own choreographed works. This free event is great for all ages. Open House will be from 1pm to 4pm at the studio, the performance will be at 2pm.

War of 1812: British Invasion of Prince George's County

  • Where: Darnall's Chance Museum, 14800 Governor Oden Bowie Dr, Upper Marlboro
  • When: Saturday, June 1, 8 a.m.
  • Description: War of 1812 scholar Dr. Ralph Eshelman will be the ride-along guide as guests travel via bus and boat (weather permitting) along the routes and waterways the British traveled through the County in August of 1814. Bus departs from and returns to Darnall’s Chance.
  • Cost: $65

Adult Baseball Game Participants & Spectators Needed

  • Where: Bethel United Methodist Church, 16101 Swanson Rd, Upper Marlboro
  • When: Sunday, June 1, 1 p.m. (or if the weather is hot they may wait till 5 p.m.)
  • Description: A friendly game of baseball for anyone 18 or older. Please bring your game chair or blanket.
  • Cost: Free

Bowiefest

  • Where: Allen Pond Park, 3330 Northview Dr, Bowie
  • When: Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Description: Bowiefest is a long-standing tradition in the City bringing the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses to one place for one day. Around the Pond visitors can sample food from area vendors including Cotton Candy, Barbecue German & Italian Sausages, Alligator, and other festival favorites include soft serve ice cream, funnel cakes, frozen fruit drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
