Tree Planting

In addition to providing fresh air, a place for birds to perch, and natural beauty, trees and plants in the Anacostia Watershed serve another valuable purpose.  During heavy rains, the Anacostia River is often overwhelmed with sediment and pollution runoff that washes into the river.  Trees and native plants work as a barrier to the river by sucking up this water and protecting the water quality of the river. Come roll up your sleeves and help us to restore the health and natural beauty of the watershed!

This event will take place on April 28th, 2012; 10:00am-1pm

  • We will be meeting at Bladensburg Waterfront Park located at:

4601 Annapolis Road
Bladensburg, MD 20710
