Mini-bites of news to start your morning.

1. If you've been hiding under a rock, you might not know that at 11 a.m. at Ritchie Coliseum on the University of Maryland campus. Captain Marc Limansky of the University Police Department of Public Safety told Patch he does not expect traffic to be adversely impacted by the event.

2. In case you missed it, Thursday's Viewfinder profiled the bar set to replace the Thirsty Turtle. Owner John McManus showed Patch around , which he hopes will open by mid-August.

3. Saturday's due to extreme weather conditions in the forecast. The new date has yet to be set.
