1. Postal Service Issues

A spokeswoman from the U.S. Postal Service says issues with misdirected and lost mail in the past year , though Councilman Patrick Wojahn (Dist. 2) says complaints have existed for years.

2. Inspiration

The Diamondback had a great piece Thursday about a poet among the University of Maryland student ranks. He's only a freshman, and he's already published.

3. Mayflower Sets Sail

On this day in 1620, 102 Pilgrims set sail on the Mayflower, bound for America.

4. Solar Decathlon

Today's Featured Facebook Page belongs to the international student competition, Solar Decathlon, which begins next week. Patch has a story later this morning about the University of Maryland's entry, the WaterShed house. According to the Facebook page, the winning team "best blends cost-effectiveness, consumer appeal, and design excellence with optimal energy production and maximum efficiency."
