The Hyattsville man charged for fatally shooting a University of Maryland student could be found guilty of first-degree murder and handgun crimes.

Deandre Ricardo Williams, 24, appeared in Prince George's County Circuit Court Friday afternoon, when he pleaded "not guilty statement of facts." Though not admitting guilt, the plea means that the defense and state's attorney agree upon the evidence for charges. The plea also means Williams will go directly to sentencing, without a trial.

According to the agreement read at Friday's hearing by Chief Wesley Adams of the Homicide Division of the Prince George's County State's Attorney’s office:

• Williams entered the College Park home of 22-year-old Justin DeSha-Overcash on Jan. 11, 2011, to rob him of money and marijuana. When DeSha-Overcash threw a glass jar at Williams' head, Williams shot DeSha-Overcash twice in the abdomen.
• Williams left the scene in a vehicle driven by Stephan Weaver, who admitted to conspiring with Williams to commit the robbery.

Weaver, 23, of Bowie, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and gun charges and awaits sentencing on Friday, March 9.

Williams is scheduled for sentencing at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20. He could be handed between 30 and 60 years in prison.
