Two Killed in Crash on Route 1 in Beltsville

A passenger vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and collided with a tow truck, police said.

 

Two people were killed Friday morning in Beltsville when a passenger vehicle collided with a tow truck, NBC Washington reports.

The accident occurred around 2 a.m. on U.S. Route 1 (Baltimore Ave.) near Powder Mill Road.

Prince George's County police told the news channel that the driver of a southbound vehicle crossed into incoming traffic and crashed into the truck.

One occupant of the first vehicle was ejected, while another died inside, police said. The tow truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
