Students Raise $21K for Autism Research at 5K

More than 400 participants came out to College Park for the charity race.

The Autism Speaks U group at UMd. raised more than $21,000 for autism research at the fourth annual Fear the Turtle Autism Speaks U 5K, presented by Sigma Phi Epsilon, Sigma Kappa and Delta Sigma Phi. This grows the $86,000 that the student groups raised over the first three years of the event.

The race, held on Saturday, April 14 at the Comcast Center, attracted 435 participants. They enjoyed sunny skies, 70-degree weather and family activities.

Will DeKrey, of Washington, won the race with a time of 21:19. Paige Haley, of Elkton, was the top female with a time of 27:18. Complete results are here.
