Whether they originated in Belgium or France — and there's considerable debate on that point — French fries have become a worldwide culinary phenomenon since their debut several centuries ago.
From the mayo-slathered street fare of Amsterdam to the thick-cut chips of England to those all-too-familiar red cartons of McDonald's fries, there's no shortage of variations on the theme.
But what about our corner of the world? When you're craving that most famous of fried snacks, where do you head?
For this week's Readers' Choice, we're posing a simple question: Who makes the best fries in College Park? Cast your vote in the poll below, and tell us in the comments what makes them oh-so-delectable.
Your choices are:
- Barking Dog
- Bentley's Restaurant and Grill
- Bobby's Burger Palace
- Cornerstone Grill
- Looney's Pub
- Marathon Deli
The poll is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Please vote no more than once per day. And if we've left out any great french fry options in College Park worthy of this poll, let us know in the comments. (We'll add new ones to the poll up until end of Tuesday.)
Because this poll is not scientific, the votes will not be the sole consideration in choosing the winner. The winner will be determined by Patch editors, and the selection will be based on poll results, ratings and reviews. Please vote only once per survey and per Patch. Other Readers' Choice rules accompany this post in the PDF.
