A teen kills housemate in argument over food; and police launch a nighttime deployment blitz to bring homicide and other crimes down, according to recent county police reports.
A teenager allegedly kills his housemate in a food fight; and police deploy extra specialized officers on the streets in six focus areas, according to recent Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD) reports.
Police Say Teen Kills Housemate During Food Fight
A Capitol Heights teen allegedly shot his housemate to death in an argument over food, according to the PGPD. Putting an end to the fight, police say Everett Hoskins, 19, of the 700 block of Glacier Ave., retrieved a firearm and fired at his housemate Saturday night, killing him. Hoskins was captured Sunday in Washington. The victim, Oliver Gregson Davis, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene. PGPD Cpl. McKinney said she could not say what food the two were arguing over. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the PGPD Homicide Unit at (301) 772-4925.
Police Launch 'Intensive' Crime Reduction Blitz
PGPD has launched a two-week, intensive, nighttime blitz of extra officers and detectives to bring down homicide and other crimes. Specialized patrol officers and detectives are saturating six areas in evenings and early mornings as part of the Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative. The blitz, the second of the summer, began Saturday and will focus on the areas of Langley Park; East Riverdale and Bladensburg; Suitland and Coral Hills; Kentland and Palmer Park; Hillcrest Heights and Marlow Heights; as well as Glassmanor and Oxon Hill, according to police.

Perhaps Prince Georges County needs to offer anger management classes. I cannot imagine any type of food that is worth killing someone over. Perhaps it was magic mushrooms. Still not worth killing over.

Regardless of the food type Cpl. Mckinney, the message should be this type of violence is unacceptable, inexcusable and will not be tolerated. Who cares what type of food it was; someone is dead due to senseless violence once again. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!

Oh my what is going on in the world today, that food or the lack thereof can bring someone to end the life of another when every living soul needs food to survive, every living soul. The basic lesson must but have been taught to this individual to simply share.
I agree that this individual needs help with anger issues, but then that's the least of his problem. He took the life of another over something that is the bare necessities of life.
