Police Search for Two Suspects Connected to Burglary

No property stolen, but female student awoke to a man in her on-campus dorm touching her thigh.

A female student awoke early Sunday morning in her on-campus dorm room to a man touching her thigh, according to a University of Maryland Police report.

According to the statement:

  • After the Cumberland Hall resident woke at 3:50 a.m., her roommate entered the room and confronted the male, who stated he entered the room by mistake, and then he left.
  • Although the laptop had been packed and moved, it was not taken.
  • The male entered the room through an unlocked door. At least one other resident noticed two males who didn’t appear to belong in the building.

Descriptions of the two suspect can be found here.

Although a similar incidident was reported last fall, at the Leonardtown Apartments, police do not suspect it is linked to this weekend's incident, The Diamondback reported.

Individuals with any information regarding this incident should contact police at 911 or 301-405-3555, or email investigations@umpd.umd.edu.

Police encourage students to lock their bedroom doors when leaving the room or going to bed at night.
