Energy Assistance Program to Hold Special Office Hours in Prince George's
Representatives from Maryland's Office of Home Energy Programs will on hand in Landover July 2-6.
In order to assist more residents who need help paying their utility bills, the county will hold special office hours for the State of Maryland’s Office of Home Energy Program (OHEP) in Prince George's County starting July 2.
The OHEP's 2013 Energy Assistance Program will serve residents out of an office at 1017 Brightseat Road, Landover, MD.
Normally, the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services at 425 Brightseat Road in Landover manages the energy assistance program, seeing hundreds of customers, according to information released by the county. In addition DSS also serves those residents who need temporary cash, medical assistants and food supplements.
However, aware of an influx of residents in need of help, the DSS will be moving their office hours to a bigger location.
The office will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 2 through July 6, except it will be closed on July 4.
In order to gain assistance, resident should bring an original signed application, photo ID, social security card, current lease, current utility bills and income for the last 30 days.
Residents can also apply online.
