Clean Out Your Closet For College Park's Winter Clothing Drive
You know you don't wear some of those clothes in your closet. Why not donate them to someone in need?
As we enter the thick of the holiday season, now might be a great time to cull your closet for the warm clothes you know you're never going to wear again. The monogrammed L.L.Bean snow boots that, though adorable, your kid outgrew two winters ago? The latest in your extensive collection of complimentary conference sweatshirts? Yeah. Those clothes.
Both of the above are excellent nominees for College Park's 3rd annual Winter Clothing Drive, which began Monday and will run until Dec. 11, and again from Jan. 2 through 16.
Gently used warm clothes like coats, sweaters, jackets, pants, gloves, hats and the like are welcome, provided that they are clean and in good condition, with no rips or tears. The clothes will be distributed among three organizations: Pregnancy Aid Center in College Park, The Arc Thrift Store in Beltsville, and ThriveDC. First priority will be given to Prince George's county organizations.
In years past, residents have donated between 15 and 30 large boxes of clothing. Clothes can be dropped off at the following locations:
Pizza Roma: Dec. 6 through Dec. 11 (box at entrance)
Al-Huda School: Dec. 6 through Dec. 11 (box at entrance)
Davis Hall: Dec. 9 (during the North College Park Citizens Association meeting)
Berwyn Baptist Church: Jan. 2 through Jan. 16 (box inside sanctuary)
