Azteca Set for "Trial" Opening Friday
Owner says Tex-Mex restaurant will be in full swing Sept. 16.
A new Mexican restaurant, Azteca Restaurant and Cantina, will open its doors in College Park on Friday.
But Mario Orellana, one of Azteca’s owners, said this is just to gauge how business will go. The official grand opening isn’t until the following Friday on Sept. 16, when he expects business to be in full swing.
Orellana said that he wanted to open Azteca in College Park because there is no other Tex-Mex restaurant in the area. He hopes to attract local residents to the establishment.
Once it’s up and running, Azteca, 9505 Baltimore Ave., will be open from 11 a.m. until at least 11 p.m. The restaurant will be open later on Fridays and Saturdays.

Margaritas were decent. Food visually appealing but lacking spices which seems to be the norm for all new Mexican restaurants. 2 out of three meals were lukewarm.
